Salary: $98,000 - $123,500 CAD base (experience-based) | Total compensation up to $165,500+ CAD (including per diem, vacation pay, and supplemental compensation)

About the Opportunity

TAPP Workforce Solutions is recruiting a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) on behalf of an aeromedical transport operator delivering critical care to remote Arctic and northern communities. As part of a highly skilled Air Medical Crew (AMC), you will provide expert respiratory therapy care during interfacility patient transports, working alongside Registered Nurses and Advanced Care Paramedics, with support from an On-Line Medical Control (OLMC) Physician. This role combines clinical excellence, adaptability, and purpose — supporting communities that rely on this service as their lifeline to advanced medical care.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide expert respiratory therapy care as part of a multidisciplinary Air Medical Crew during aeromedical patient transports
- Conduct rapid response assessments and interventions for critically ill or injured patients across all age categories
- Collaborate with RN and ACP crew members and consult with OLMC Physicians to ensure safe, high-quality transport
- Manage airway, ventilation, and oxygenation for patients in flight, including those requiring advanced respiratory support
- Support secure interfacility transfers, often from remote communities to tertiary care facilities
- Maintain and operate aeromedical respiratory equipment per organizational safety and clinical standards
- Participate in annual recurrent training and simulation exercises at a dedicated medical training facility
- Maintain current licensure and certifications (professional licensing costs reimbursed annually)

Requirements

Education: Diploma or degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program

Certifications:

- BLS (required)
- ACLS (required)
- PALS (asset)
- NRP (asset)
- Indigenous cultural awareness training (asset)

Experience:

- Minimum 2 years in intensive/critical care, emergency care, or aeromedicine (preferred)
- Current registration in good standing with home Province/Territory
- Ability to attain and maintain registration with the Manitoba Association of Registered Respiratory Therapists (MARRT)
- Medical transport experience is a strong asset

Technical Skills:

- Advanced airway management and ventilator management in high-acuity settings
- Competency operating aeromedical and portable respiratory equipment
- Strong clinical decision-making in time-sensitive, resource-limited environments

Ideal Candidate

This role suits an RRT who thrives in unpredictable, high-stakes clinical environments and is drawn to the unique challenges of remote and northern healthcare — a confident, autonomous clinician who communicates well under pressure, works effectively in small crews, and brings genuine respect for the communities served.

Interview Process

1. Recruiter screening call (TAPP Workforce Solutions)
2. Interview with clinical/operations leadership
3. Reference checks and credentialing verification
