Pay Rate: $19.10/hr

Site: Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital

Schedule: Continental Rotating (0700-1900 / 1900-0700 hrs)

Overtime Methodology: Averaging agreement after 88 hours

Site Overview

Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital is a busy acute care facility in York Region providing emergency, medical, surgical, mental health, and rehabilitation services. Security guards work in a fast-paced environment focused on routine patrols, controlling site access, and managing emergency responses to keep patients, staff, and visitors safe.

What You'll Be Doing

- Conduct regular patrols of hospital grounds, parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, and entryways.
- Monitor security cameras and alarm systems, reporting suspicious activity immediately.
- Control access at entry points and ensure only authorized individuals enter restricted areas.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies, fire alarms, evacuations, and security threats, assisting hospital staff as needed.
- Greet visitors, patients, and staff, offering directions and ensuring hospital policies are followed.
- De-escalate tense situations and resolve conflicts calmly and professionally.
- Accurately document daily activities, incidents, and security concerns in detailed reports.
- Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to maintain a safe environment.

Must Haves

- Valid Security Guard License for the province of Ontario.
- Valid First Aid & CPR Level C certification from a WSIB-approved provider.
- High School Diploma or GED.




- Fluency in spoken and written English.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.
- Up-to-date immunization records (MMR, Varicella, two COVID-19 doses, and a two-step TB skin test).
- Ability to be clean-shaven for N95 mask fit testing.
- Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB), or willingness to complete Paladin's training program prior to onboarding (training costs covered by Paladin with a 6-month commitment).

Nice-to-Haves

- One year of experience in security or law enforcement.
- Diploma or degree in Police Foundations, Protection Security and Investigations, Criminology, or Border Services.
