Title: Security Guard

Employment Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: Starting rate of $21.17/hr (Level 3). Full levelling range is $19.63/hr – $22.09/hr based on completed requirements. Level 3 training must be completed within 8 months to maintain starting rate.

Site: Milton District Hospital

Schedule: Continental rotation (0700-1900 / 1900-0700)

Overtime Methodology: Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Site Overview

Milton District Hospital is a vital community healthcare site providing care to patients across the region. Working in healthcare security means serving in a fast-paced environment where safety, compassion, and professional customer service go hand in hand to support healthcare staff, patients, and visitors.

What You'll Be Doing

In this role, you will help maintain a secure, welcoming, and secure environment across the hospital campus. Key duties include:

- Conducting regular safety patrols of hospital grounds, including parking areas, hallways, patient units, and access points.
- Monitoring access points to ensure only authorized individuals enter restricted areas.
- Operating security cameras and alarm systems, reporting suspicious events promptly.
- Responding calmly and quickly to emergency situations, medical calls, fire alarms, and site evacuations.
- Assisting hospital staff, patients, and visitors with directions, information, and general support.
- De-escalating tense or stressful situations using verbal communication techniques.
- Completing clear and accurate daily reports and incident documentation.




- Working closely with hospital staff and emergency services to support overall site safety.

Must Haves

- Valid Ontario Security Guard License.
- Valid First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
- Proof of double COVID-19 vaccination and complete immunization records (TB skin test 1 and 2, MMR, and Varicella).
- Clean-shaven facial hair to pass an N95 mask fit test.
- Valid certification in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB), or a willingness to complete pre-employment training provided through Paladin.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.

Nice-to-Haves

- One year of prior experience in healthcare security, law enforcement, or a related sector.
- A diploma or degree in Police Foundations, Protection Security and Investigations, Criminology, or Border Services.
