Site: Greater Niagara General Hospital

Schedule: Continental Nights (20:00 - 08:00)

Overtime Methodology: Averaging Agreement after 88 hours

Greater Niagara General Hospital is a vital healthcare facility providing essential medical services to the local community. Working at this site means playing a direct role in maintaining a safe, calm, and secure environment for healthcare professionals, patients, and visitors.

What You'll Be Doing

- Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including hallways, patient rooms, entrances, exits, and parking areas.
- Monitor security cameras and alarm systems, reporting any suspicious activity promptly.
- Control access at designated entry points to ensure only authorized individuals enter restricted hospital areas.
- Respond swiftly to site emergencies, medical calls, fire alarms, and security threats, supporting staff during crises and evacuations.
- Greet and assist visitors, patients, and hospital staff with directions while ensuring site policies are followed.
- De-escalate tense situations calmly and professionally using conflict resolution techniques.
- Write accurate daily activity logs and detailed reports on all incidents or safety concerns.
- Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to maintain a coordinated safety effort.

Must Haves

- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License.
- Valid First Aid and CPR Level C Certification.
- Minimum 1 year of security experience in a healthcare setting.
- Certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB).
- Complete immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, two-step TB skin test, and double COVID-19 vaccination).
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.

Nice-to-Haves





- Degree or diploma in Police Foundations, Protection Security and Investigations, Criminology, or Border Services.
