Title: Security Guard Employment Type: Full-time

Pay Rate: $19.30 per hour

Site: Etobicoke General Hospital

Schedule: Rotating Continental (07:00 - 19:00 / 19:00 - 07:00)

Overtime Methodology: Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Etobicoke General Hospital is a busy community healthcare facility serving a fast-growing and diverse population in the region. Home to one of the busiest emergency departments in Canada, this site provides a active, dynamic environment where your presence directly helps protect healthcare workers, patients, and visitors every day.

What You'll Be Doing

- Conduct regular patrols of hospital grounds, including patient rooms, hallways, entrances, exits, and parking lots.
- Monitor security cameras, access control systems, and alarms to ensure restricted areas remain secure.
- Respond quickly to site emergencies, medical crises, fire alarms, and security concerns, assisting staff with evacuations when needed.
- Welcome patients, visitors, and staff, offering clear directions and ensuring hospital policies are followed.
- De-escalate tense situations and manage conflicts calmly and professionally.
- Write clear, accurate daily activity logs and incident reports.
- Coordinate with hospital staff and local law enforcement during critical incidents.

Must Haves

- Valid Ontario Security License.
- Valid First Aid & CPR Level C certification from a WSIB-approved vendor.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.
- Proof of two COVID-19 vaccine doses and immunization records for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and a two-step TB skin test.
- Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB), or willingness to complete Paladin's free training course prior to onboarding (requires a 6-month commitment).
