Support clean, protected care environments in Halifax as a Housekeeper with Northwood, using housekeeping and laundry experience daily. Twelve-hour shifts total 84 hours biweekly.
Reporting to the Manager, Environmental Services, this Housekeeper performs cleaning duties throughout assigned areas. The work includes floor and carpet maintenance, laundry operations, waste transport, and special cleaning projects. Northwood seeks someone experienced in Long Term Care or Acute Care environments.
Key Responsibilities: Perform cleaning functions in assigned areas
Collect and transport garbage and recycling using large carts
Maintain floors and carpets through prescribed procedures
Operate washers and dryers according to instructions
Fold, press, package, and distribute clean laundry
Requirements: Minimum Grade X or equivalent
At least two years housekeeping experience in care environments
Previous laundry experience
Knowledge of floor stripping, WHMIS, carpet care, and refinishing
Ability to lift, push, pull, and move 50-pound equipment
Bring healthcare housekeeping, laundry, floor-care, and safe chemical-use knowledge to Northwood’s Halifax Environmental Services team.
