Full-Time Meat & Seafood Clerk

As a Full-Time Meat & Seafood Clerk, you will help provide customers with fresh, high quality products and friendly service. You will work as part of the Meat & Seafood team to prepare, package, stock, rotate, and display products while maintaining food safety, cleanliness, and accurate pricing.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide friendly customer service and help customers with questions about meat and seafood products.
- Prepare and package meat and seafood products, including basic cutting, wrapping, weighing, and labelling.
- Fill and maintain meat and seafood displays, keeping products fresh, well presented, and properly rotated.
- Check products regularly and remove expired or poor-quality items.
- Ensure prices, product labels, expiry dates, and signage are accurate and up to date.
- Follow FIFO rotation, food safety, sanitation, and secure-handling procedures.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, coolers, freezers, displays, and equipment.
- Assist with planogram, display, promotional, and seasonal changes.
- Use and clean department equipment safely according to training and established procedures.
- Answer customer questions, take orders at the service counter, answer the phone, and communicate with other departments as needed.
- Follow all company safety procedures and applicable requirements for operating department equipment.

Skills & Qualifications:

- Friendly and customer-focused with good communication skills.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good organization, time-management, and basic math skills.
- Able to follow food safety, product rotation, and handling procedures.
- Willing to learn about meat and seafood products, equipment, scales, labelling, and inventory.
- Able to read and follow planograms and product displays.
- Able to stand for extended periods and perform physical duties including bending, kneeling, climbing, and pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs.
- Able to lift more than 25 lbs.
- Comfortable working in areas with frequent temperature changes.
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
