Support recovery with counselling and crisis intervention as a Concurrent Disorders Counsellor serving London and St. Thomas, Ontario.
This full time, permanent counsellor provides client-centered, recovery-focused support within a multidisciplinary team. You will address co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns through intake, screening, assessment and counselling. The work also includes treatment planning, case management and follow-up across onsite, home, community and virtual settings.
Key Responsibilities: Complete intake, screening and evidence-informed assessments
Provide crisis intervention and develop safety plans
Deliver individual and group counselling
Create treatment, recovery, discharge and transition plans
Coordinate referrals, outreach, navigation and follow-up
Requirements: Diploma or degree in a mental health-related field
Current registration with an appropriate professional college
Valid minimum G2 driver's licence
Personal vehicle and two-million-dollar liability insurance
Current satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check
Apply strengths-based, trauma-informed and harm-reduction counselling skills while connecting clients with appropriate supports.
