Acclaim Health is hiring a Recreation Assistant for its Adult Day and Caregiver Support department. You will help plan and evaluate social and recreational programs for older adults with cognitive impairments. The work includes communication strategies, behaviour management, medication assistance, and daily living support.
Key Responsibilities: Plan and implement therapeutic social recreation programs
Use communication and behaviour management strategies
Monitor needs and update individual service plans




Assist with medications under caregiver instructions
Support eating, toileting, and mobility activities
Requirements: Community College Certificate in health or social science
One to two years gerontology experience
Experience with cognitively impaired older adults
CPR certification and current two step TB test
Knowledge of Alzheimer Disease and related disorders
Bring recreation programming, dementia care, and compassionate communication skills to Acclaim Health’s Adult Day programs across three communities.
