Operate propane lift trucks safely at GMS Canada’s Barrie warehouse, preparing building-material loads and supporting accurate, scheduled deliveries.
The Forklift Operator prepares orders, loads and unloads building materials, and works with team members to exceed customer expectations. Daily work includes lift-truck inspections, maintenance coordination, order building, load verification, material security, and communication with supervisors. This position requires two years’ experience and valid propane forklift certification.
Key Responsibilities: Inspect lift trucks daily and complete required forms
Build orders according to delivery specifications
Load and unload building materials safely and efficiently
Check contents, secure materials, and meet shipping schedules
Communicate with supervisors to resolve emerging issues
Requirements: Valid propane forklift certification
Minimum two years of experience
Effective written and oral communication skills
Knowledge of basic mathematics and hand tools
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
