As a Senior State Estimation Engineer, you will shape the estimation stack for autonomous airplanes. The work combines probabilistic estimation, GNSS/INS integration, sensor fusion, and vision-based navigation. You will collaborate with navigation, controls, hardware, and flight-test teams while mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Lead estimation architecture, roadmap, design reviews, and code quality

Develop estimators for aircraft state, wind, air data, and terrain height

Build GNSS-denied navigation using vision and alternative sensors

Own aircraft sensor selection, calibration, synchronization, and health monitoring





Deploy quality metrics and integrity monitoring for downstream users

Requirements

Engineering, computer science, robotics, or related university degree

State estimation or navigation software experience on real hardware

Modern C++ on Linux with Eigen and estimation or vision libraries

Experience with inertial navigation, GNSS/INS integration, and sensor calibration

Eligibility for Government of Canada security clearance and Controlled Goods assessment
