Government Recruitment Service is introducing this Verification Assurance Officer role within selected Jobcentre and Service Centres. You will work with colleagues to identify potential fraud, strengthen verification processes, and prevent fraud entering the welfare system. The position supports customer engagement, fraud awareness, and accurate management information.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct initial and further evidence interviews with Jobcentre colleagues
Verify identification, housing costs, children, and childcare documents
Conduct customer review meetings with agreed claim evidence




Share fraud trends with office and specialist intelligence teams
Lead customer education sessions on responsibilities and non-compliance
Requirements: Ability to work fully from a Jobcentre location
Excellent communication skills for claimant and colleague interviews
Ability to collaborate face to face with Jobcentre colleagues
Ability to maintain accurate management information as directed
Willingness to travel frequently between sites when required
Support fraud controls, claimant verification, customer education, and Jobcentre collaboration as a Verification Assurance Officer in Whitby.
