Responsibilities

- Lay out, measure, and mark sheet metal according to shop drawings, blueprints, or templates.

- Operate shop machinery (such as press brakes, shears, roll formers, and plasma cutters) to cut, bend, and shape metal.

- Fit, assemble, and join sheet metal parts using spot welders, fasteners, or riveting equipment.

- Fabricate custom ventilation shafts, heat/air ducts, flashing, and specialized metal products.

- Grind, deburr, and buff seams and rough edges for a clean finish.

- Maintain a clean, organized,



and safe work area and assist with routine machinery upkeep.

- Work collaboratively with shop leads, fellow apprentices, and installers.

Qualifications

- Experience: Open to 1st/2nd-year apprentices up to experienced Journeypersons (previous shop or construction experience preferred).

- Technical Skills: Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, and use tape measures and shop gauges accurately.

- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, bend, lift heavy materials, and work in a physical shop environment.

- Work Ethic: Punctual, reliable attendance, a positive attitude, and a strong commitment to shop safety.
