CANCOM welcomes aspiring security professionals who are interested in learning about the industry and pursuing the qualifications necessary to become licensed in Ontario.

Through CANCOM Security Academy , prospective candidates can explore security guard training, orientation, professional development,



and pathways toward employment.

Training and licensing requirements must be completed before undertaking duties requiring an Ontario security guard licence.

Your Responsibilities
Depending on your assigned position, responsibilities may include:

Protecting people, property, and client facilities.

Conducting proactive security patrols and identifying potential safety concerns.

Monitoring CCTV, alarms, and access control systems.

Responding professionally to incidents, emergencies, and requests for assistance.

Providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a visible security presence.

Applying conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.

Preparing accurate incident reports and maintaining operational documentation.

Communicating effectively with supervisors, dispatchers, clients, and emergency services.

Following CANCOM policies, client procedures, and applicable legislation.

Demonstrating integrity, accountability, and professionalism at all times.

Qualifications
For Licensed Security Guard Positions:

Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence.

Legal authorization to work in Canada.

Strong verbal and written English communication skills.

Professional appearance and conduct.

Reliability, punctuality, and a customer-service mindset.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Availability for assigned shifts, including evenings, weekends, or holidays where required.

Previous security, military, law enforcement, emergency services, or customer service experience is an asset but not always required.

For New Candidates:

A genuine interest in pursuing a career in security.

Willingness to complete required training and licensing.

Commitment to learning, professional conduct, and teamwork.

Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.

Compensation & Opportunities
Anticipated Pay Range: $19–$25/hour

Compensation varies depending on the position, assignment, qualifications, and experience.

Full-time, part-time, casual, and specialized assignments may be available depending on operational requirements.
