This Environmental Health Officer position promotes public health, environmental conditions, and environmental control standards. You will enforce applicable acts, regulations, and by-laws while identifying detrimental factors and supporting their abatement. The work includes education, research, assessments, analysis, reporting, and reviewing or drafting standards, programs, and controls.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct public health and environmental control inspections
Investigate using a risk-based approach
Determine compliance and required corrective action
Enforce acts, regulations, and by-laws
Prepare relevant reports and interpret results
Requirements: Bachelor of Technology in Environmental Health or equivalent preparation
Canadian Public Health Inspector certification CPHI(C)
Valid BC Driver's License and personal vehicle
Ability to analyze technical and laboratory information
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
