This experienced Mechanical Designer transforms product concepts into production-ready models and drawings for fabricated steel structures, garden-centre fixtures, carts, and shade systems. You will develop components, weld assemblies, sheet-metal designs, and detailed fabrication documentation. The work also includes structural layouts, load considerations, material takeoffs, cost estimates, ERP records, and production support.
Key Responsibilities: Develop parts from concept through SolidWorks modelling and production release
Create weld assemblies, sheet-metal designs, and 2D fabrication drawings
Prepare structural layouts, dimensions, tolerances, cut lists, and bills of material




Conduct structural calculations and stress testing for load capacities
Support production, installation, quoting, prototypes, and technical troubleshooting
Requirements: Five years of technical design experience in manufacturing or fabrication
Hands-on costing and structural design or detailing experience
Proficiency in SolidWorks or a similar modelling tool
Experience with fabricated steel or aluminum structures and connections
Diploma or degree in mechanical, civil, or engineering design technology
