At Sault Area Hospital, this Registered Practical Nurse provides care in an outpatient department serving patients with wide-ranging needs. Experience includes urology, colposcopy, minor procedures, surgery, orthopedics, medication administration, transfusion services, and pre or post-operative care. The position also includes patient and family education.
Key Responsibilities: Provide nursing care under College, organizational, and unit standards
Collaborate with health care providers during patient care
Make clinical decisions within available resources
Teach patients and families about health care
Participate in Nursing and Unit objectives development
Requirements: Current Ontario certificate of competency
IV therapy competency
Minimum two years recent related experience
Basic Cardiac Life Support competency
Clinical competency in surgical, orthopedic, and urology care
Apply ambulatory nursing expertise, patient education, IV therapy, and clinical judgment within Sault Area Hospital outpatient services.
