About the role

Griffin Technology is looking for an Special Projects Coordinator to help lead our powder coating operation. You'll work alongside the General Manager to run day-to-day operations, deliver on company priorities, and drive improvements in quality, throughput and safety. You'll act on the GM's behalf when they're away. This role suits a hands-on leader who knows the finishing floor and wants to grow into senior leadership.

What you'll do

- Oversee daily operations across pretreatment, coating, curing, quality control and shipping
- Turn the GM's priorities into plans, assign owners and make sure goals are met on time
- Lead, coach and hold accountable production supervisors and team leads
- Manage production scheduling and capacity to meet customer due dates
- Track key metrics such as on-time delivery, first-pass yield, rework, scrap, powder usage and labour efficiency, and act on the results
- Drive continuous improvement in line speed, changeovers, transfer efficiency and cost
- Champion health and safety, including WHMIS, PPE, lockout/tagout and compliance with provincial OHS regulations
- Make sure finishes meet customer specs and industry standards
- Support customer relationships on quality issues, technical questions and current jobs
- Help with budgeting, purchasing,



equipment maintenance planning and hiring
- Act on the GM's behalf in their absence

What we're looking for

- 5+ years in industrial finishing, coatings or manufacturing operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role
- Hands-on knowledge of powder coating processes: pretreatment chemistry, application, cure, and film and adhesion testing
- Proven ability to lead teams and improve production performance
- Strong knowledge of Canadian workplace health and safety requirements
- Comfortable with data, production reporting and ERP or scheduling systems
- Lean, Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement experience is an asset
- Post-secondary education in engineering, chemistry, manufacturing or business management, or equivalent experience
- PCI (Powder Coating Institute) training or certification is an asset
