Lead person-centered recreation programs as Extendicare’s Recreation Manager, using leadership and program planning to support residents’ well-being and quality of life.
This full time manager leads recreation staff and volunteers in a senior care setting. You will develop meaningful activities, encourage participation, and improve the resident experience. The work emphasizes communication, leadership, documentation, evaluation, and Extendicare’s Resident Bill of Rights.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and motivate recreation staff and volunteers
Develop and implement resident programs and activities
Achieve resident and family satisfaction targets
Maintain budgets and monitor departmental expenditures
Promote community engagement through volunteers and partners
Requirements: Post-secondary education in Recreation Therapy or Therapeutic Recreation
One year of health care experience
Two years of senior care program planning experience
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Valid Vulnerable Sector Search within six months
