The Adult Fitness and Lifestyle Group Fitness Instructor delivers high-quality classes within the YMCA. This instructor creates safe exercise experiences, supports members pursuing fitness objectives, and maintains required certifications. The role also includes equipment awareness, emergency response, and member education around unsafe exercises.
Key Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality, secure group fitness classes
Provide exceptional member service and build relationships
Support members achieving their fitness objectives




Inspect equipment and report defective items
Respond to emergencies and address unsafe exercises
Requirements: Current YMCA, Fitness Alberta, or CanFitPro certification
Specialty group fitness certification is an asset
CPR-A certification at minimum
Ability to obtain Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
