Educational advising and financial aid expertise define this temporary Comox Valley position at North Island College, scheduled Monday through Friday.
Reporting to the Registrar, the Educational/Financial Aid Advisor supports prospective and current students. The work combines program guidance, educational planning, career exploration, financial need assessment, and student funding support. Advising also includes admissions, registration, referrals, and recruitment activities.
Key Responsibilities: Provide accurate information about NIC programs, courses, admissions, and registration
Create and monitor educational plans with students
Coach students through career options and pathways
Assess financial need and prepare aid forms
Confirm enrollments for funding agencies and sponsors
Requirements: Minimum four successful years of post-secondary education
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Three to five years of related work experience
Knowledge of BC post-secondary systems and financial aid programs
Valid BC driver’s license
Apply educational advising, coaching, communication, and financial aid knowledge supporting North Island College students.
