Sturgeon Public Schools seeks a Child and Youth Care Worker for Bon Accord Community School. Working under classroom teacher direction, you will support students with diverse needs alongside teachers and educational assistants. The work focuses on social-emotional skills, self-regulation, positive behaviours, and classroom participation.
Key Responsibilities: Observe, assess, and document student behaviours and safety needs
Support classroom activities and learning routines
Teach life skills and social-emotional strategies
Build trust through meaningful interactions and activities
Intervene during crises using therapeutic behaviour management
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Child and Youth Care or Social Work
Child and Youth Care diploma may be considered
Two or more years’ related experience
Knowledge of addiction, mental health, and child development
Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required
Bring relationship-building, therapeutic support, and sound judgement to help Bon Accord students feel secure, supported, and connected.
