Ultraprotect Security Inc. is hiring professional, alert, and reliable Tactical Security Guards for retail security assignments in Edmonton, Alberta.

Previous retail security experience is mandatory. We are looking for candidates with experience in shoplifting prevention, theft deterrence, suspicious activity detection, trespassing, and handling challenging situations in retail environments.

The successful candidate will maintain a visible security presence, protect store assets, assist retail staff, respond to incidents, and help provide a safe shopping environment for customers and employees.

Candidates must demonstrate professionalism, strong observation skills, excellent communication, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

- Maintain a visible and professional security presence at assigned retail locations.
- Conduct regular patrols of sales floors, entrances, exits, parking areas, and other designated locations.
- Identify and respond to suspected shoplifting, theft, trespassing, and suspicious activity.
- Deter theft, vandalism, property damage, and unauthorized access.
- Monitor customer behaviour and identify potential security risks.
- Respond to disturbances, disputes, and other security incidents professionally.
- Use appropriate de-escalation and conflict-resolution techniques.
- Assist store employees and management with security-related concerns.
- Follow established procedures when dealing with suspected shoplifters and disruptive individuals.
- Contact police, emergency services, or supervisors when necessary.
- Prepare accurate daily activity logs and detailed incident reports.
- Follow company policies, site-specific post orders,



and applicable legislation.
- Maintain a professional appearance and wear the required uniform.
- Perform other security duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Valid Alberta Security Services Worker Licence – mandatory.
- Previous retail security experience – mandatory.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification – mandatory.
- Experience with shoplifting prevention, theft deterrence, and retail security incidents.
- Strong observation and situational-awareness skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to manage difficult situations calmly and professionally.
- Knowledge of de-escalation and conflict-resolution techniques.
- Ability to write clear and accurate incident reports.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Availability for flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
