Support mental health and substance use clients as a Mental Health and Addictions Care Worker with Vancouver Coastal Health in Vancouver.
Work at Venture, a short-term crisis intervention and stabilization program offering an alternative to hospitalization. Provide client-centred support within a 24-bed licensed facility. Use knowledge of mental health issues, substance misuse, community resources, and behavioural management.
Key Responsibilities: Monitor clients and document observations according to procedures
Facilitate community services and coordinate qualified supports
Assist daily living, hygiene, safety, shopping, and budgeting
Co-lead groups and participate in case planning
Maintain a safe, clean environment and complete clerical duties
Requirements: Recognized Health Care Worker certificate and two years relevant experience
Knowledge of mental health treatment and substance misuse
Ability to manage conflict and aggressive behaviour safely
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Basic computer literacy and physical ability for duties
Bring crisis support, client observation, and community resource knowledge to Venture’s mental health and substance use care services.
