Develop critical care expertise through theory and practicum training with Island Health as a regular full time Registered Nurse. Work hours are 08:00-16:00.
This regular full time training chance prepares practicing Registered Nurses for Island Health’s specified critical care specialty department. The program combines theory and practicum before placement into a regular full time rotation line. You will provide direct nursing care according to competency guidelines, policies, and BCCNM Standards for Nursing Practice in British Columbia.
Key Responsibilities: Complete theory and practicum specialty training
Prepare to work in the critical care department
Plan and provide direct nursing care
Follow unit and program philosophy requirements
Support continuous patient and staff safety improvement
Requirements: Practice as a registered RN with BCCNM registration
Recent related medical and surgical experience
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Organize workload and set priorities
Perform the position’s physical duties
Build critical care capability through Island Health training while applying direct nursing care, communication, organization, and safety skills.
