Operate tandem-axle trucks and maintain regional roads for the Region of Waterloo. Support winter plowing, salting, sanding, and summer maintenance activities.
This temporary full time Roads Maintainer assignment lasts five months within the North Patrol Yard. Work covers roads, bridges, roadsides, and related infrastructure throughout Waterloo Region. Duties include equipment operation, material hauling, vegetation control, catch basin cleaning, culvert installation, and traffic control. Schedules may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities: Complete equipment circle checks and report repair requirements
Haul gravel, asphalt, topsoil, and gabion stone
Operate trucks for winter plowing, salting, and sanding




Perform roadside vegetation cutting and debris removal
Install culverts, snow fences, and related infrastructure
Requirements: Grade 12 education or equivalent basic skills
Two years of directly related equipment operation experience
Valid Class D licence with Z endorsement
Acceptable driving record and successful physical demands test
Ability to work variable shifts and on-call rotations
Bring road maintenance, truck operation, equipment care, and winter control skills to Waterloo Region transportation services.
