Practice perioperative nursing at Toronto General Hospital with critical decision-making and collaborative care skills. This is a casual position with rotating shifts.
The Registered Nurse works in UHN’s Operating Room, supporting adult inpatient and outpatient surgical patients. The department includes 21 Operating Theatres, a Multi Purpose OR, and specialized programs. Services include cardiovascular, thoracic, general surgery, gynecology oncology, urology, head and neck, plastics, robotic, surgical oncology, and transplantation care.
Key Responsibilities: Provide compassionate, collaborative, and competent perioperative nursing care
Apply nursing science, theory, skills, and critical decision-making
Maintain practice under skilled standards and ethical requirements




Participate in continuing education activities for patient population needs
Reflectively evaluate and modify nursing practice to improve care
Requirements: Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Recognized Operating Room or Perioperative course completion
Two to four years of current Operating Room experience
Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
Strong communication, organization, judgment, and problem-solving skills
Bring perioperative expertise, sound judgment, and patient-centered nursing practice to Toronto General Hospital’s Operating Room.
