Overview

We are seeking knowledgeable, supportive tutors to help students succeed in AP Statistics, AP Psychology, and AP Computer Science. Tutors will provide individualized and small-group instruction, explain challenging concepts, and help students build effective study habits and confidence. Candidates may specialize in one or more subjects. This is a paid tutoring position.

Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging tutoring sessions tailored to each student’s learning needs and course goals.
- Teach AP subject concepts, including statistical reasoning and math, psychology principles, or computer science fundamentals.
- Help students practice problem-solving, review assignments, prepare for exams, and strengthen study skills.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on understanding and feedback.
- Communicate clearly and patiently with students, and collaborate with families or educators as appropriate.
- Create a welcoming, respectful learning environment that supports students with varied learning styles and needs.





Experience

- Demonstrated knowledge of AP Statistics, AP Psychology, AP Computer Science, or the subject area you wish to tutor.
- Prior tutoring or teaching experience is preferred.
- Experience working with children or adolescents is strongly valued.
- Math proficiency is important for AP Statistics; computer science knowledge and practical computer skills are key for AP Computer Science.
- Classroom experience and familiarity with AP coursework are helpful.
- Experience supporting students with special education needs or diverse learning styles is a plus.
- Strong communication, organization, patience, and the ability to explain complex ideas clearly.

Pay: $35.00-$50.00 per hour Expected hours: No more than 6.0 per week
