**Job Description**

As a Production Worker, you assemble wall panels, floor panels, and roof trusses for the home construction industry using a variety of equipment and hand tools.

You read and interpret plans and blueprints, follow laser-guided layouts, and ensure each component meets quality standards.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, working with wood and tools, and contributing to the construction of residential structures in a collaborative plant environment.

**Responsibilities**

+ Operate a variety of equipment and hand tools safely and productively to assemble wall panels, floor panels, and roof trusses.
+ Read and interpret plans and blueprints to accurately build components according to specifications.
+ Assemble floors, roof trusses, and walls for residential home construction using kitted wood and supplied materials.
+ Follow laser-guided layouts on truss and floor tables to correctly position and set wood.
+ Apply nail plates and use hammers, nail guns, and other hand tools to secure and assemble wood components.
+ Perform visual quality checks on assembled products to ensure they meet required standards.
+ Use measuring tapes in both standard and metric to verify dimensions and ensure precise assembly.
+ Work efficiently on a production line, contributing to general production, assembly, and labor tasks as needed.
+ Handle and operate power tools such as drills and saws in a safe and competent manner.
+ Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all safety guidelines and procedures.

**Essential Skills**

+ At least 1 month of experience in an active role in construction, roofing, shop class, home renovations, or similar hands-on work.
+ Minimum of 3 months of experience working with hand tools such as hammers, drills, and saws, either at work or at home.
+ Ability to read and use a measuring tape in both standard and metric units accurately.
+ Experience in general labor, production, and assembly work in a manufacturing or construction-related environment.
+ Comfort and competence working with wood, including measuring, cutting, and assembling components.
+ Ability to operate nail guns and other common construction hand tools safely.
+ Capability to operate a variety of saws and power tools in a safe and effective manner.
+ Experience in construction, framing, or building components, particularly related to roof truss assembly.
+ Experience in a sawmill or similar wood-processing environment.
+ Strong attention to detail and ability to perform visual quality checks on finished products.
+ Reliability and willingness to work full-time day shifts with consistent attendance.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Experience in landscaping, farming, or other physically active work environments.
+ Experience on production lines or in general production and assembly roles.
+ Comfort working in a fast-paced plant environment with small teams.
+ Ability to work well in a team setting, collaborating with 25 team members in floors, walls, or truss areas.
+ Willingness to learn new tools, equipment, and processes related to panel and truss assembly.
+ CSA-approved steel-toed boots (expense reimbursement available after direct hire).

+ Interest in long-term growth within a manufacturing and construction-related organization.

**Why Work Here?**

You join a close-knit, small-town plant where people genuinely enjoy working together, support one another, and often spend breaks socializing.

The organization offers long-term disability and life insurance, as well as a Group RRSP and DPSP program where employees can contribute after 3 months and receive company contributions after 1 year.

Once hired directly, you receive expense reimbursements for essential work items, including work boots, tools, and outerwear.

There are strong opportunities for growth and advancement, with many office staff, department supervisors, and leaders having started in the plant and progressed into leadership, sales, customer service, design, and operations roles.

Employees enjoy monthly lunch meetings with prize draws, bonuses, gift cards, and branded clothing around the holidays and in the summer.

The vacation policy is lenient, with increased vacation percentages after 5 and 10 years, and a company HSA plan available for those with 10+ years of experience, supporting long-term well-being and work-life balance.

**Work Environment**

The plant is located in a small town and has a friendly, cooperative culture where team members get along well, work closely together, and often socialize during breaks.

Teams typically range from 2 to 5 people depending on the area, such as floors, walls, or truss sections.

The work environment is not fully climate controlled, so you should be prepared to work in varying temperatures, including heat or cold depending on the season and your location within the plant.

Large industrial fans help improve air circulation.

The dress code is relaxed, allowing jeans and hats, with the requirement to wear CSA-approved steel-toed boots and to avoid clothing with profane language.

The role follows a day shift schedule: Monday to Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., providing consistent daytime hours in a hands-on, production-focused setting.
