Lead person-centered recreation programs as Extendicare’s Recreation Manager, using leadership and program planning to support residents’ well-being and quality of life.
This full time manager leads recreation staff and volunteers in a senior care setting. You will develop meaningful activities, encourage participation, and improve the resident experience. The work emphasizes communication, leadership, documentation, evaluation, and Extendicare’s Resident Bill of Rights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and motivate recreation staff and volunteers
- Develop and implement resident programs and activities
- Achieve resident and family satisfaction targets
- Maintain budgets and monitor departmental expenditures
- Promote community engagement through volunteers and partners
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in Recreation Therapy or Therapeutic Recreation
- One year of health care experience
- Two years of senior care program planning experience
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Search within six months
