Help Build What Keeps Heavy-Duty Transportation Moving
Imagine a transportation industry where specialized equipment does not have to compromise.
Where manufacturers can solve difficult applications with dependable components, responsive support, and engineering that works in the real world.
At KG Industries Ltd. (KGI), we build specialty heavy-duty axles for demanding applications across transportation, forestry, mining, heavy haul, off-highway, and other specialized industries. We have been doing it for more than 45 years from our manufacturing facility in Cawston, BC.
Our mission is simple:
We Advance Specialty Transportation.
And every material, component, supplier commitment, and purchase order behind our products matters.
Team and Mission
You will join KGI’s Supply Chain & Materials Team and work closely with Planning, Quality, Operations, and our supplier network.
Your job is bigger than placing purchase orders.
You will make sure the materials and external services our team depends on arrive at the right time, at the right quality, at the right cost, and with an acceptable level of risk. You will also help develop stronger, more capable suppliers as KGI grows.
When purchasing works well, production moves.
Customer commitments stay intact.
Problems are identified early instead of becoming emergencies.
And our team can focus on building quality products for customers who rely on us.
Our Culture
We work as one team and stay united behind the strategy.
We act with precision, challenge what can be improved, and protect quality above all.
We build authentic relationships—but accountability still matters.
Those expectations reflect KGI’s five core attributes: United in Strategy, Learn, Adapt, Improve, Precision-Driven Action, Quality Above All, and Authentic Connections.
Is This You?
Keep reading only if something inside you is saying:
HELL YEAH.
You like getting answers.
You follow through.
You notice when a date, price, quantity, or commitment does not look right.
You are comfortable calling a supplier and asking the hard question.
You do not wait until a shortage becomes a crisis before speaking up.
You can build strong supplier relationships without becoming afraid to hold people accountable.
And when something could work better, you want to improve it.
If chasing information, negotiating, managing details, or holding suppliers to commitments sounds exhausting, this probably is not your role.
The Role
PURCHASER Supply Chain & Materials
As KGI’s Purchaser, you will own the day-to-day execution of purchasing and a significant part of our supplier relationships.
You will convert purchase requirements into accurate purchase orders and dependable supplier commitments.
You will keep purchase orders, confirmations, expected dates, lead times, pricing, and vendor information current in Genius ERP.
You will actively manage delivery and cost exceptions and raise supply risks early enough for the team to respond before customer commitments are affected.
This is a role for someone who combines commercial awareness with operational discipline.
You need to care about cost.
You need to care about relationships.
And you need to care deeply about whether the information in the system is actually correct.
How You Advance Our Mission
KGI cannot advance specialty transportation without a dependable supply chain.
Your work helps ensure our production team has what it needs to build.
You will strengthen supplier performance, reduce unnecessary risk, recover shortages, improve cost and capability, and help create a supply base that can support KGI’s future growth.
Our broader vision is to be a trusted heavy-duty transportation partner known for creative engineering and unmatched support. Reliable purchasing is part of delivering on that promise.
