Lead heavy civil estimating for Whissell, using bid strategy and cost-estimating expertise to pursue accurate, competitive projects across Alberta. This company-wide leadership role supports estimating teams and project pursuits.

As Chief Estimator, you will direct estimating activities for underground utilities, earthworks, water, and sewer construction. You will review opportunities, develop budgets and bids, evaluate risks, and align estimates with operational capabilities. The position collaborates with General Managers, Operations, Project Management, Business Development, and senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead Whissell’s estimating function and estimating team
- Develop budgets, bids, and comprehensive project estimates
- Evaluate project opportunities, risks, contracts, and constructability
- Lead bid strategy, reviews,



submissions, and project handoffs
- Mentor estimators and improve estimating processes company-wide

Requirements:

- CET designation, Civil Engineering degree, or related qualification
- Minimum 10 years estimating heavy civil construction projects
- Experience bidding large-scale, multi-million-dollar heavy civil projects
- Understanding of field operations, sequencing, productivity, and constructability
- Microsoft Office proficiency; B2W and Bluebeam experience preferred
