About the role

As our Quantity Surveyor, you’ll provide commercial support across Accent’s responsive repairs and voids contracts, helping us make the best use of our resources while delivering safe, quality homes for our customers. Working within Property Services, you’ll manage and monitor costs, review quoted works, valuations and variations, and provide clear financial insight so our services remain well controlled, compliant and focused on value for money.

You’ll work closely with colleagues and contractors, offering practical commercial advice on costs, schedule of rates compliance and risk. By challenging costs where appropriate, identifying efficiencies and supporting procurement activity, you’ll help teams make informed decisions and continuously improve our repairs and maintenance services—without compromising service quality or customer outcomes.

Salary

The spot salary for this post is £51,936.25 per annum for applicants who fully meet the requirements of the post. If you’re still developing some of the skills or experience, you can start at a salary 5% or 10% below the spot rate, with clear support and progression opportunities to reach the full amount.

About you

- Good knowledge of construction contracts, schedules of rates, cost control and commercial management.

- A good understanding of responsive repairs, voids and property maintenance, including relevant health and safety. (CDM knowledge and requirements would be an advantage).
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and strong prioritisation skills, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Confidence using cost management, housing or property management systems and other operational software.
- Previous experience working in housing, local authority or construction industry would be an advantage.
- The ability to travel occasionally to Accent sites and off-site meetings, with a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- The successful applicant will be subject to pre‑employment checks, such as DBS and social media screening, before an offer is confirmed.
