Provide labour and employment legal advice for Alberta Justice in Edmonton, using analytical research and effective writing skills. This is a full time temporary position.

As Barrister and Solicitor with the Labour and Employment Law Team, you will advise the Government of Alberta on complex workplace matters. Your work may cover discipline, terminations, collective agreements, human rights, investigations, contracts, occupational health and safety, and labour relations. You will also support legislation and policy work.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide day-to-day labour and employment legal advice
- Draft clear, concise, accurate legal opinions
- Develop proactive strategies for complex workplace matters
- Draft employment and other contracts
- Appear before arbitrators, umpires, and labour decision-makers

Requirements:

- Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor degree
- Active or immediately eligible Law Society of Alberta membership
- Four or eleven years of related experience
- Cover letter summarizing experience, strengths, and interest
- Labour and employment law experience is an asset
