Job Summary

- G Visser & Sons is seeking an experienced Senior Carpenter to perform construction, renovation, repair, and maintenance work across company properties, including potato storage and packing buildings, farm buildings, residential buildings and other buildings.

The successful candidate will be a skilled, hands-on qualified who can complete projects independently and guide other workers when required.

Duties

- Perform carpentry, construction, renovation, and repair work.
- Complete framing, drywall, flooring, doors, windows, trim, cabinetry, and finishing work.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install construction materials.
- Read and work from drawings, measurements, and project specifications.
- Identify building issues and recommend appropriate repairs.
- Plan and complete assigned projects efficiently and independently.
- Guide and support other workers on construction projects when required.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
- Maintain safe and organized work areas and follow company safety procedures.

Qualifications

- 5+ years of professional carpentry or construction experience.
- Strong experience in framing, renovations, repairs,



and finishing work.
- Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and blueprints.
- Valid driver’s licence required.
- Carpentry certification or Red Seal qualification is an asset.
- Previous experience leading or supervising other workers is an asset.

- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, tools, and safety practices.
- Ability to accurately measure, cut, assemble, and install materials.
- Skilled and safe use of hand and power tools.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to plan, organize, and complete projects independently.
- Strong attention to detail and time-management skills.
- Ability to coordinate and provide guidance to other workers when required.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting and carrying at least 50 lbs regularly.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45.0 per week
