Calgary

Calgary Landscape Inc. is seeking a hands-on Snow Removal Team Lead to direct, train, and work alongside a snow removal crew on commercial properties throughout Calgary.

If you take ownership, communicate clearly, and can keep a crew organized without constant supervision, this role gives you the opportunity to lead work that matters: maintaining winter access for our clients, their staff, and the public.

What you’ll do

- Lead daily crew assignments, explain route priorities, and adjust to changing weather and site conditions under the direction of the Landscape Maintenance Supervisor and management.
- Train and coach crew members, delegate according to their skills and authorization, and work alongside the crew.
- Remove snow from public and internal sidewalks, accessible routes, ramps, entrances, and pedestrian areas behind parking curbs, according to each property’s approved scope.
- Safely operate snow blowers, walk-behind snow sweepers, backpack blowers, and hand tools.
- Complete ice checks, identify slippery areas, and carry out assigned ice-control work according to company procedures.
- Drive a truck and tow, reverse, and manoeuvre a trailer safely; navigate Calgary routes efficiently and adapt to winter road conditions.
- Complete vehicle, trailer, tool, and equipment inspections. Recognize unusual operation or mechanical concerns and report defects promptly rather than continuing with unsafe equipment.
- Lead by example on PPE, hazard assessments, safe work practices, and safe job procedures. Stop unsafe work and follow direction from the Health and Safety Officer and Operations Manager.
- Inspect completed work, correct missed areas, protect client property, and report hazards, damage, access problems, or delays promptly.
- Maintain accurate time entries, service records, site notes, inspection photos,

and shift handoffs using company systems, including LMN.
- Keep vehicles, trailers, equipment, and supplies clean, organized, secured, and ready for the next shift.
- Treat clients and teammates respectfully and refer customer concerns or requests outside the approved scope to management.

What you bring

- A valid Alberta driver’s licence and a clean driver’s abstract — required. Driving is an essential duty of this position.
- Your own reliable vehicle to travel to and from work.
- Experience in a landscape team leader role, with the ability to lead winter maintenance work.
- Competence operating the snow removal equipment listed above and driving a truck with a trailer.
- Reliable attendance, punctuality, and the ability to respond during assigned on-call periods.
- Clear communication, sound judgment, and accurate basic written or digital record keeping.
- Self-motivation and the ability to organize work without direct supervision.
- Ability to perform demanding outdoor winter work, including shovelling, walking, bending, pushing equipment, and handling tools and materials safely.

What success looks like

Your crew knows the plan and leaves prepared. Supervisor site checks show that assigned areas meet company standards, with missed work corrected before departure. Daily records accurately show what was completed, while safety concerns, equipment problems, and delays reach the supervisor promptly.

What we offer

- Competitive wages.
- Guaranteed hours, with the arrangement explained during hiring.
- Dental care, extended health care, and vision care for full-time employees.
- In office parking.
- Company orientation, safety instruction, equipment training, and supervisor-led coaching.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour

Benefits:

- Dental care
- Extended health care
- On-site parking

Work Location: In person
