Lead dam geotechnical engineering for WSP in Calgary or Edmonton, applying technical leadership and design expertise across Western Canada.

As Principal Geotechnical Engineer, you will support WSP’s Dams and Tailings Practice within Ground Engineering. You will guide water-retention structures, mining dams, mine waste facilities, closure designs, and tailings plans through investigation, design, construction support, and closure.

Key Responsibilities:

- Act as Alberta’s Qualified Qualified for the dams practice
- Lead geotechnical studies, analyses, and engineering reports
- Direct investigations, instrumentation, monitoring, and construction reviews
- Manage scope, schedules, budgets, quality, and client relationships




- Mentor engineers and advance technical excellence across teams

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geological Engineering
- Registration or eligibility for APEGA Professional Engineer registration
- 15+ years designing dams and mine waste storage structures
- Knowledge of Alberta, GISTM, and Canadian Dam Association guidelines
- Valid unrestricted Alberta Class 5 Driver’s Licence
