Job Overview

- The Fish Plant Worker supports daily operations in a food-processing facility, helping prepare, process, package, and store fish products safely and efficiently.
- This hands-on role involves working around processing equipment and maintaining clean, sanitary work areas in accordance with food safety procedures.
- Applicants should be comfortable with repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods, and working in a cool, wet, or fast-paced production environment.

Duties

- Sort, clean, trim, and prepare fish for processing, following product specifications and supervisor instructions.
- Assist with meat cutting and other butchery tasks when trained and authorized.
- Weigh, label, and package finished products, checking that packaging is secure and accurate.
- Operate or assist with food-processing and packaging equipment; report equipment issues and follow lockout and safety procedures.
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of tools, work surfaces, and production areas.
- Follow established food safety practices, including proper handling, storage, and prevention of cross-contamination.




- Inspect products and materials for quality, freshness, and compliance with facility standards.
- Move supplies and finished products as needed, using safe lifting and handling practices.
- Maintain an orderly work area and promptly report safety, quality, or equipment concerns.

Experience

- Previous experience in manufacturing, the food industry, or food processing is helpful but not required; training may be provided.
- Experience with packaging, fish handling, butchery, or meat cutting is an advantage.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and comfort working with production equipment are beneficial.
- Applicants should be dependable, attentive to detail, able to follow written and verbal instructions, and committed to cleanliness and safe work practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing for extended periods and handling materials, is required.

Pay: $16.35-$22.13 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 50.0 per week
