About the role
Remitian automates tax payments for accounting firms and their clients across Canada and the US. Our Business Solutions group builds products and internal applications on top of the Remitian API, the way a partner would, with AI agents doing much of the building.
As our FinOps Engineer, you make the company's finances run themselves: forecasts that update on their own, receivables and payables that reconcile without manual work, and clean data moving between our accounting, banking, payments and CRM systems. You own these systems end to end, from the business case to production.
What you'll own
- Forecasting and planning: our AI-driven finance platform for forecasts, budgets and projections
- AR and AP automation: invoicing, collections, payables and auto-reconciliation against the ledger
- Integrations: accounting software, banking and payment platforms, CRM, and our payment partners
- Revenue data: contracts, recurring revenue and partner revenue share, accurate and auditable
- Current finance services, such as insurance, from sizing the opportunity to a working product
Who you are
You've written production software and you've kept books. You're as comfortable reading a ledger or a contract as a pull request.
You have
- Shipped full-stack software (UI, API, database) to production recently, with AI coding tools doing much of the typing and you reviewing every line
- Hands-on finance experience: a month-end close, AR, billing, or a reconciliation you ran yourself
- Built AI agents that call tools or APIs, with human review steps where they matter
You are
- Cross-disciplinary: you move between finance, contracts and code in the same afternoon
- Curious: you ask why a number moved before you fix it, and teach yourself new domains
- Entrepreneurial: you've started something, whether a product, a business, or an internal tool other teams adopted
- A builder: you ship, leave things running, and write the runbook
- AI-native: agents are how you work, not a novelty
Nice to have: CPA or in progress; fintech, ledger, billing or payments experience; integrations with banking, payments or accounting software; contract literacy.
Location and start
Ottawa, hybrid. Full-time, starting November 2026. You must be eligible to work in Canada.
Pay: $90,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
Application question(s):
- Are you legally eligible to work in Canada, and do you live in or near Ottawa?
- Share a link to production code or a live product you built in the last 12 months. What did you write, and what did your AI tools write?
- Describe a month-end close, AR run or reconciliation you did yourself, with the systems you used.
