Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, or masking to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Operate cranes, forklifts, and power tools safely to access and position large or heavy components.
- Apply primers, paints, coatings, or finishes using spray guns, brushes, or rollers with precision.
- Follow safety protocols diligently, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct quality checks on painted surfaces for consistency, coverage, and finish quality.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and proper storage of paints and supplies.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to meet production schedules while adhering to lean manufacturing principles.
Experience
- Prior experience in industrial painting within a manufacturing or mechanical setting is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge related to machinery assembly, machining processes, welding, and general fabrication is highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Experience operating cranes and forklifts is a plus; certification preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices and safety standards in industrial settings.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality standards.
