Advance surgical nursing at Lake of the Woods District Hospital through operating room and PACU care, assessments, and post-operative support.

This full time permanent Registered Nurse position serves the Surgical Services Department and Nursing Resource Team. You will care for emergency and elective surgical patients while rotating between operating rooms and PACU. Visiting specialists provide Orthopedics, General Surgery, Urology, Gynecology, Cataracts, Dental, and Endoscopy services. The role begins in PACU before operating room orientation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct pre-operative assessments and interventions in PACU
- Deliver compassionate post-operative care and manage pain
- Assess unconscious post-operative patients




- Rotate between operating rooms and PACU
- Participate in after-hours on-call scheduling

Requirements:

- Current registration with College of Nurses of Ontario
- Two years clinical Med-Surg or related experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, ECG, PALS, PEARS, and CPI certifications
- IV Therapy certification with ongoing competence
- Willingness to complete six months full-time training
