Duties
- Safely operate counterbalance forklifts, clamp trucks, and order pickers to move, load, and unload materials throughout the warehouse.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks regularly, ensuring goods are handled with care and efficiency.
- Assist in accurate order picking by locating and retrieving items based on warehouse management system (WMS) instructions.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment such as forklifts and clamp trucks to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
- Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing stock, replenishing inventory, and preparing shipments for dispatch.
- Utilize basic math skills to verify quantities, measurements, and inventory counts during daily operations.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and participating in regular safety training sessions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating forklift equipment, especially counterbalance forklifts; certification is highly preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues and perform basic maintenance checks.
- Familiarity with warehouse distribution processes and systems such as warehouse management system (WMS).
- Ability to perform order picking accurately using various warehouse equipment including order pickers and clamp trucks.
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting, standing, walking, and working in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills for inventory counting, measurements, and data entry tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with a proactive approach to safety and efficiency.
