Own the customer relationship. Coordinate the details. See your projects through to completion.
Advanced Lighting Systems manufactures custom signage for sign companies and national programs across Canada and the United States. We’re looking for a Project Manager who combines robust customer communication with technical understanding, careful drawing review, and independent follow-through.
You will manage assigned projects from customer approval through design, fabrication, installation, and closeout. Your responsibility is to ensure customers stay informed and our design and production teams have the information, approvals, and direction they need to execute successfully.
What You’ll Own
- Serve as the primary customer contact for assigned projects, managing updates, questions, approvals, and expectations.
- Turn approved estimates and customer requirements into clear project instructions for Technical Design and Production.
- Review drawings against the approved scope, site information, and customer requirements—including dimensions, materials, finishes, illumination, and mounting details.
- Identify discrepancies, missing information, and conflicting requirements; coordinate their resolution before releasing work to production.
- Obtain and document customer approvals, keeping revisions current and ensuring teams work from the correct drawings.
- Coordinate schedules, purchasing requirements, fabrication milestones, shipping, and installation with the appropriate team members.
- Track scope changes and arrange pricing and written authorization before additional work proceeds.
- Monitor project progress and costs, flag risks early, and bring forward practical solutions.
- Coordinate installation readiness,
outstanding deficiencies, and project closeout.
- Provide Administration with timely information for deposits, progress billing, and final invoicing.
What You Bring
- At least two years of experience managing projects in signage, custom fabrication, architectural millwork, exhibits, or a closely related field.
- Direct experience coordinating with technical designers and production or manufacturing teams.
- Demonstrated ability to read, question, and cross-check technical or architectural drawings.
- Strong customer communication and the confidence to clarify requirements and manage expectations.
- The ability to manage multiple projects independently, maintain accurate records, and follow through without repeated reminders.
- A constructive approach to problems: you take ownership, communicate the impact, and help put the correction in motion.
- A willingness to learn, share knowledge, and accept feedback.
Sign-industry experience is strongly preferred, particularly familiarity with sign construction, materials, illumination, and installation methods.
What Success Looks Like
Your customers know where their projects stand. Design receives complete briefs. Production receives coordinated, approved information. Changes are documented, deadlines are actively managed,
and problems are addressed promptly and professionally.
You know when to make a decision independently and when to escalate an issue with a recommended solution.
Why Join Advanced Lighting Systems
