Overview

Our client, an established compressed-air equipment company in Calgary, is hiring a Field Service Technician to replace one of their top techs. If you like solving problems, want variety in your day, and are looking for a company to stay with long-term, read on.

The big stuff

- $40–$45/hour, plus overtime when you want it
- Take-home company truck, with new F-350-class trucks being added to the fleet
- Home most nights. Mostly Calgary work, with regional trips about once a month
- Light on-call: about one week every two months, scheduled well ahead, with a premium paid all week even if you’re not called out

The work

No two days are the same. One day it’s routine service, the next it’s a breakdown where a customer needs you to figure it out and get them running. You’ll service and repair compressors and compressed-air systems, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, and help with installs and start-ups. You’ll be part of a tight team of eight, where people help each other and stick around.

Who this suits





- Field service techs, millwrights, industrial mechanics, industrial electricians or HVAC/refrigeration techs
- A mix of mechanical and electrical skills, and comfort working on your own in the field
- Compressor experience is a big plus, but solid techs from related trades are encouraged to apply
- Gas fitter ticket is an asset
- Valid driver’s licence
