This position is located in the Dalhousie Student Union Building and is scheduled Monday to Friday 12pm to 8/9pm.

Please note that on-site parking is not available. Applicants should be comfortable using public transit, walking, or arranging alternative transportation to and from work.

This location can be a high-volume, rapid-paced environment that serves a diverse customer base. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively with customers and team members in a busy setting.

Candidates must be reliable, punctual, and available to work the scheduled shifts.

Duties

- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards
- Assist in food preparation, including chopping, marinating, and assembling dishes
- Ensure all food handling procedures comply with safety regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen station throughout shifts




- Monitor ingredients and supplies, notifying management of shortages or issues
- Serve dishes promptly and accurately to ensure customer satisfaction
- Follow proper food safety protocols during meal preparation and service
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods

Experience

- Prior experience in food service or restaurant kitchens is preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
- Familiarity with food safety standards and proper handling procedures
- Experience in meal preparation within a fast-paced setting is advantageous
- Understanding of the food industry trends and customer service expectations
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards
- Previous experience with serving or working in a team-oriented kitchen setting is a plus

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
