More than an assisting role
Are you an RDA who enjoys more than the clinical side of dentistry? Do you naturally look for ways to make things run more smoothly, enjoy helping your teammates succeed, and want to take on greater responsibility as you grow?
At Southport Dental Care, we’re looking for a motivated, patient-focused Registered Dental Assistant to join our team on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with the potential to transition to full-time hours.
We’re especially interested in someone who wants to develop their skills beyond the operatory. As you become familiar with our practice, there will be opportunities to contribute ideas, improve clinical workflows, help develop systems, and take on more responsibility. For the right person, this role could grow into a lead position over time.
We value team members who take ownership, communicate openly, think proactively, and care about creating an excellent experience for both patients and colleagues.
What you'll do
Clinical care and patient experience
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures while helping patients feel informed and comfortable.
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials in accordance with infection prevention and safety protocols.
- Take dental radiographs and accurately document patient histories, treatment notes, and other clinical information.
- Review routine post-treatment instructions and help patients understand their next steps in care, including treatment costs and insurance coverage within the scope of the role.
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment areas.
Teamwork and practice operations
- Work closely with the clinical and administrative teams to keep the daily schedule running smoothly.
- Support reception and administrative tasks as needed, including chairside scheduling, preauthorization submissions, and record maintenance.
- Identify opportunities to improve organization, communication, and day-to-day workflows.
- Contribute ideas and help implement systems that make the practice more efficient.
- As your role develops, take on additional responsibilities that support the team and prepare you for potential future leadership.
What we're looking for
- An active Registered Dental Assistant license with Prosthodontic Advanced certification.
- A patient-first mindset and the ability to build trust through clear, compassionate communication.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt when priorities change.
- Someone who takes initiative, follows through on commitments, and looks for solutions rather than waiting to be directed.
- An interest in developing workflows, improving systems, mentoring colleagues, and eventually taking on a leadership role.
- A willingness to learn new technology, adapt to evolving processes, and grow with the practice.
Experience with any of the following is an asset:
- Oral sedation and implant surgery
- Orthodontics
- Dentrix practice management software
- CBCT imaging and TRIOS intraoral scanning
- Dental office administration
We're interested in someone with the right mindset, a willingness to learn, and the ambition to grow into greater responsibility.
What we offer
- Part time hours on Mondays (8am-4pm), Wednesdays (8am-4pm), and Fridays (8am-2pm), with the potential for full-time employment.
- Opportunities for professional development and progression toward a lead role.
- The ability to contribute ideas and help shape how our team works.
- No weekends.
- Scrub allowance.
- Health Spending Account.
- Subsidized underground parking.

If you're looking for a role where your ideas are valued, your initiative is encouraged, and your career can develop beyond your current responsibilities, we'd love to hear from you.
