Fil-Trek Corporation, a leading manufacturer of industrial filtration equipment, is looking for an experienced Automatic Band Saw Operator to join our day-shift production team.

Summary

We are seeking a skilled operator to set up and run fully automatic pivot-style (scissor) and dual-column band saws.

This position requires someone who understands high-volume saw cutting—not just loading material and pressing start. The successful candidate must be able to plan cuts, program batch quantities and lengths, set up single and bundled material, and adjust the machine to maintain accurate and efficient production.

The main focus of this role is maximizing saw output while maintaining cut quality, dimensional accuracy and material traceability.

Hourly Rate: Based on experience
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Job Type: Full-time, permanent

Responsibilities

- Set up and operate a fully automatic horizontal band saws.
- Program cut lengths, quantities and multiple production jobs using the machine’s controls.
- Set up and run repeat, batch and bundle-cutting operations for higher-volume production.
- Select the correct blade speed, feed rate, feed pressure and clamping pressure based on material type, size and profile.
- Plan material layouts and cutting sequences to improve output and reduce scrap.
- Read and interpret drawings, cut lists, work orders and material specifications.
- Load, align and secure pipe, tube, bar and structural material for safe and accurate cutting.
- Verify cut lengths and quality using tape measures, calipers and other measuring tools.
- Monitor blade condition, cut straightness, coolant flow and machine performance.
- Troubleshoot cutting issues, including blade deviation, excessive burrs, poor finish and inaccurate lengths.
- Perform blade changes, routine inspections and basic preventative maintenance.




- Identify opportunities to improve cycle times, material flow and overall saw productivity.
- Maintain material identification and traceability throughout the cutting process.
- Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.

Requirements

- Previous experience setting up and operating an automatic industrial band saw.
- Experience with high-volume repeat cutting, batch cutting or bundle cutting.
- Strong understanding of blade selection, blade speed, feed rate, clamping and material positioning.
- Ability to independently program and adjust automatic cutting cycles.
- Ability to read drawings, cut lists and work orders accurately.
- Comfortable cutting different material types, sizes and profiles.
- Strong measuring and basic math skills.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify and correct common cutting problems.
- Strong attention to detail, productivity and material utilization.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, cranes or other material-handling equipment.
- Able to work independently and take ownership of saw output and cut quality.

Experience operating an NC/CNC-controlled or fully automatic dual-column band saw is considered a strong asset.

Pay: $26.00-$28.00 per hour
