Pay: $40–$65/hour, based on experience and ticket level (approx. $83,000–$135,000/year at 40 hrs/week)

About Us

Vancouver Heavy Duty is a Red Seal heavy equipment service company based in Fort Langley, BC, operating since 2015. We run mobile field service with 24-hour emergency response, backed by a 10,000 sq ft shop and laydown yard, serving civil construction, forestry, marine, drilling & shoring, material handling, and rail & transportation. We're diagnostics-first: service manuals, verified readings, OEM specs, and the simplest fix before the teardown. Not parts-changers.

The Role

We're looking for an independent Field Service HD Technician to diagnose, maintain and repair heavy equipment on customer job sites across the Lower Mainland. You'll own your jobs from start to finish.

What You'll Do

- Diagnose, maintain and repair heavy-duty equipment in the field
- Manage jobs end to end, including sourcing information and ordering parts
- Complete detailed electronic service reports, inspections and photo documentation
- Represent VHD professionally with customers on site
- Work safely and independently in all weather

What We're Looking For

- Red Seal Journeyperson HD Equipment Technician, or 3rd/4th year apprentice
- Journeyperson: 5+ years in the trade preferred; apprentices: field service experience preferred
- Strong diagnostic skills: electrical, hydraulic, and diesel fuel systems
- Welding and fabrication experience an asset
- Able to work with minimal supervision

- First Aid certification an asset

Pay & Benefits

- $40–$65/hour depending on experience and ticket level
- Group benefits (medical, dental, vision) – 100% paid by VHD
- $500/year boot and PPE allowance (including rain gear)
- $500/year tool allowance
- Vacation pay 5% (6% after 5 years), paid on each cheque
