About the role

This is an entry-level job for someone who wants to start a career in construction. You'll be on our active job sites every day. You'll help the crew, keep the site running, and make sure materials and paperwork are where they need to be.

You'll report to our Site Supervisor and work closely with our Project Manager and trades. And you'll learn how a renovation runs from start to finish. If you want to grow into a site supervisor or project coordinator role down the road, this is a good place to start.

What you'll do

- Do general labour with hand and power tools, as directed by the Site Supervisor
- Help carpenters, equipment operators and other trades when needed
- Keep an eye on progress, quality and safety on site, and flag problems early
- Buy and pick up materials, deliver them to site, and make sure the crew has what it needs
- Post and keep up required site documents: building permits and placards, safety signage, the Notice of Project, and Form 1000 (Registration of Constructors and Employers)
- Keep job sites clean, organized and secure
- Check in daily with the Site Supervisor, Project Manager and trades
- Clock in and out of each job in our project management system (JobTread)
- Follow building and safety codes and residential construction best practices

What you bring

- A real interest in starting a career in construction
- A recent diploma or certificate in construction or the trades,



or some hands-on experience. Co-op, summer jobs and part-time work all count.
- Basic skills with hand and power tools, or a willingness to learn fast
- You show up on time, stay organized and follow through
- Clear communication in person, by phone and by text
- Able to lift and carry up to 30 kg (about 65 lbs) and work on your feet, outdoors, in all seasons
- A valid Ontario G2 licence or higher, and a clean driving record
- Your own CSA-approved steel-toe boots
- Nice to have:
- Working at Heights certificate
- WHMIS training
- First Aid and CPR
