Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeping manager to run the department at our downtown hostel.

The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of our hostel, ensuring that guests have a pleasant and comfortable stay. This position requires a robust work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for hospitality.

This role will be divided into 4 days of doing breakfast and housekeeping and 1 day of admin tasks.

At least 1 year of commitment to this role is required.

Responsibilities

- Figure out upcoming staffing needs, post jobs, hold interviews and train.
- Create the bi-weekly schedule of all employee's in the housekeeping department.
- Conduct daily walk-throughs and room inspections to verify cleanliness and safety compliance.
- Track cleaning supplies, linens, and equipment. Plan and order replacements.
- Review daily occupancy to coordinate deep cleaning and room readiness with other departments.
- Clean and sanitize guest rooms, bathrooms, and common areas according to hotel standards.
- Prepare, run and clean up breakfast during the morning.
- Take care of inhouse laundry including washing, drying, ironing and folding.
- Change bed linens, towels, and other amenities as needed.
- Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and surfaces in guest rooms and public areas.
- Vacuum carpets and clean floors to maintain cleanliness throughout the hotel.




- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly.
- Restock housekeeping supplies and maintain inventory levels.
- Provide exceptional customer service by responding to guest requests in a timely manner.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations while performing cleaning duties.

Qualifications

- Must be legal to work in Canada.
- Must be fluent in English. Additional languages a bonus but not required.
- At least 1 year of commitment to this role is required.
- Proven experience in cleaning, particularly in a hotel or hospitality environment is required.
- Managegerial experience is preferred but not required.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify areas that require cleaning or maintenance.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members..
- Good physical stamina; ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.

Pay: $27.00 per hour

Experience:
